Elk Meadow Trail, Mount Hood Wilderness

Kim, Dar and I went to Oregon to watch the total solar eclipse! While we were there, Kim’s friend Matt joined us for a beautiful hike of the Elk Meadow Trail in the Mount Hood Wilderness.

Such sky!
I gaze upon Mount Hood, accompanied by a delightfully Suessian tree. Kudos to Dar for the excellent framing!
Dar surveys from a stump in a clearing
We forded Newton Creek twice, pausing to gawk at Mount Hood
It’s a delicate and dangerous crossing.
Looks dangerouser from this angle.
Vistas like this are good for the soul.
