This trail goes past the lovely and popular Doyles River Falls. Being summer, lots of unmasked weirdos were coming down the trail in flip flips to frolic in it. 😷 The majority of the Jones Run Trail to Pinefield Gap loop was uncrowded.
If you only want a waterfall, take the shorter Doyles River Falls Trail, which is a segment of Jones Run Trail to Pinefield Gap. Most of the workout is on the Doyles Falls segment anyway — the loop only adds another 200 feet of elevation gain.
Skip the fire road — come in counterclockwise, treat it as an out and back. The right side is steeper, but much prettier.
